Application process
Who can participate to the Challenge?
The Challenge is open to students belonging to a European higher education establishment located in one of the Member States of the European Space Agency*. As the themes are varied, the Challenge is open to students in engineering, medicine, economics, law, communication, design, etc.
There is no individual application: each team comprises a minimum of two people and a maximum of five. Changes of team members during the competition are authorized with appropriate justification.
For work package 'Medicine', students from two different schools are authorized to create a single team (see the description of the work packages).
* Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom. Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia and Lithuania have associate member status. Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Malta have cooperation agreements with ESA.
Application
Students wishing to participate in the Challenge, and who have received an oral authorization by an official of their institution (Director, Studies director, Professor, etc.), can apply through the "Application" section of this website. They will have to specify the WP that they have chosen and to define their motivations.
Each application will be studied by the Organization Committee of the Challenge. The ability of the team to work efficiently on the selected work package, the specificities of their institution and the arguments put forward in their motivation letter will be particularly important to the Committee. If the team is selected, the application will have to be officially validated by a representative of the team's institution.
What happens next?
Each team receives an access code to obtain more information on each work package, as well as addresses necessary to contact the organization.
